Hi folks,
Mozilla has released Firefox 5. Yes, a major version number change which will consequently break a number of Add-Ons.
In the absence, so far as I'm aware, of an automated Add-On version checker which can be used
prior to updating the next best thing is Mozilla's
Add-On Compatibility Report.
Firefox 5 breaks two of my most used Add-Ons and the Report doesn't even deign to mention Symantec's two Add-Ons which get installed as part of the Norton ISS.
Did Mozilla really have to cause so much grief.

If it weren't for the Add-Ons I'd be actively looking for another browser right now and if Mozilla keep denying me use of those Add-Ons in order to get security fixes (WebGL is probably the most notable
fix in v5) then maybe it's time to dump Firefox altogether and find a browser that actually understands and correctly applies ICC colour profiles!
Bob.
