Post subject: Help in Camera and Lens

Hello all,

I am planning to buy the following Camera and Lens:

1. Nikon D90 12.3MP Digital SLR Camera (Body Only) ( for 799$)

2. Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 180$)

3. Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Nikkor Zoom Lens ( 300$, with a 200$ discount coupon)

All Brand New and all the items are sold directly from amazon.

can any one please suggest ? Is this a good deal ? Should i go ahead ? Or should i consider other lens ? I am already at the highest end of my budget ( and no way afford a D 7000) ..

The only thing i am thinking is instead of 18-55 should i go with 18-105 for 100$ more ? or is the above package perfect ? Please suggest..Thanks

If the Canon 18-55mm IS is comparable to the Nikon 18-55mm VR in terms of image quality and speed, I'd say $180 (assuming you're talking USD) is rather steep. For that lens, I would consider buying it second hand as it's a fairly basic lens.
