I'm not the best at giving critique, so bear with me, and this is just my personal opinion.

Good tones to the conversion, but I think the focus point is off. Really it should be on the eye and eyelashes rather than the nose. This would result in a slightly blurred nose, so perhaps stopping down slightly would help. You would still get the drop off from the focal plane to the ear and shoulder.

Compositionally I think the right hand side could be slightly cropped out to 10x8 or square format.

From a begginer: I'd make the depth-of-field not so shallow. Maybe more one or two stops in the f number.
