Thought I'd share some photos from a recent trip to Nepal with you all. They are all taken with my (excellent) Pentax W10 Optio.

but they are also the reason I'm now the overly proud owner of my Canon 550D.

Basically I'm pleased with the photos but they could be so much better. No DSLR can be stored in the pocket of a PFD on the river and be as to hand as the W10 can be but the bank based photos would be so much better with aperture control, a decent zoom and LESS NOISE!!!!!!!

If you want the whole story its on my blog and can be found here http://ianganderton.wordpress.com/2011/ ... ring-2011/

Planning to be back in Nepal in October for some big water action on the Sun Kosi + other rivers. Hopefully my 550D with be happily ensconced in a roughty toughty pelicase and along for the ride. Be interesting to see the convenience of the W10 vs the image quality of the 550D as to what gets the best images

CC welcome
