Hey guys,

Just wanted to share a photo I took from a site I visited earlier this week.



What do you guys think?

In the photo it looks a little sloped, but the landscape is sloping to the right, should this be fixed?

I quite like this, the muddy swampy pond leads you to the guy in the middle and there's lots going on, levelling landscapes is the first thing I do if I have a slanty one, if it still looks wrong I just play until it looks right.

Hi Gilarax,

I like the picture...HDR-ish without being "HDR'like" if that makes sense..lol.

No tilting required, I believe. It would disrupt other lines in the image. If I look at the ground, but ignore the outline/cutover from ground to sky it's level/straight.

Hey LahLahSr, its actually not an HDR at all, just played with curves and added a grad filter in Photoshop. I totally agree that it is level until the horizon because the land was actually not level. Below I am adding the "level'd" photo. I dont like it at all, but thats just me. Let me know what you think?






Hey jkstacey, thanks for the comment. Yeah I always level my horizons when taking landscapes, i just didnt like how it looked this time. The area is actually really beautiful, lots of waterfowl! I took the below shot about 30 m away across the road. The guy kinda came up and i think was as shocked as i was when our paths crossed

Maybe something in between? The reflection looks crooked to me in first photo. (Generally water is flat due to gravity, but not always.)

What about a crop like this?

Nah, much prefer the first attempt, the only thing I'd fix is the vignetting in the top corners.
