The American alligator. Shot this at the local zoo in Salisbury, Md. I was lucky enough to catch this guy grinning with its mouth wide open, rather than sleeping as usual.

Met this cat on one of my nightly walks and thankfully I had the 85/1.8 with me. Managed to get the focus pretty much spot on in Live View for this one

Camera: Canon 50D
Lens: Canon 85/1.8
Shutter: 1/100th
Aperture: f/1.8
ISO: 1600

PP: Increased exposure to around 5000 ISO, B/W conversion, slight crop

appearance in Inverness shopping street .... and saves my bacon.
