The Woodchuck actually belongs to the Ground squirrel family. This one also fits into the “urban wildlife” category. The background is actually an old rusty freezer. I tried to circle and get a more natural background but he was having none of that.

A couple shots of an Eastern Chipmunk, It’s very similar to Wolfsong’s which I suspect would be one of the western subspecies.

LOL thanks K.. I had no idea there were 2 different species in canada  ... It had been several years since I last seen one and it surprised me at how small they were. My memory seems to be fading faster and faster

Was out today and decided to try and get a few pics of Richardson's Ground Squirrels. These guys have been photographed so much I wanted something different so I decided to belly up to one and see if I could shoot up at it. I think it worked out. A unique angle of these little guys...

New one for me to photograph.. a Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrel... these are no where near as common as the Richardson's Ground Squirrel... only place I have ever seen these is in Danielson Provincial Park... was down there today... spending way too much time on my belly crawling after these guys.

Been checking out some of the smaller regional parks around me the last few days... not much to photograph except Squirrels of late. Too much water up here which makes the waterfowl hard to get at....

2 Squirrels... second pic is prob one of my best Squirrel pics to date... I love the dead tree it is on as well as its pose on it...

This guy was all up in my business when I was grilling yesterday, I was beginning to wonder if he was a meat-eater  (No PP, just crop)

Wish I had the shutter faster. It was an over-cast day and had to bump the ISO way up to get the shutter speed after I missed this one. f5.6, 1/200sec, ISO400, 125mm

I got within 5-feet before he decided to move back into the tree. Even then he didn't run, just kinda walked back. 1/100sec, ISO1600, 125mm
