I'll throw myself in here I suppose... I wasn't aware of this assignment but just got back from a trip and have something that fits the theme.

The Hidden Desert by Clay Carey (in the mojave desert), on Flickr

The first light of a new day strikes a massive sand dune in the Mojave desert, southern California, USA. This begins a new cycle of light and shadow for the dunes, a truly amazing place.

Camera Model: Canon 300D (DIY IR modified)
Lens and focal length: Samyang 8mm fisheye
Aperture: f/8
Shutter Speed: 1/200s
Sensitivity: ISO100
Post processing: Dust removal, red-blue channel swap, levels, WB adjust, denoise.

I think I got at least 4 days of creation in there, with hints up to the 6th day.
