Hey Patti,

Glad to hear that you're not folding on this one, because you absolutely nailed the January 'Love' assignment. I'm a big fan of your entry.

I think everyone here has an idea or concept in mind for this month's assignment, but no one is ready to take the big chance and post.

Let the posting begin!

LOL..this is funny! (I mean literally)

I've been out and about both Saturday and Sunday last week - enjoying the first 2 sunshine days in months here in Vancouver.

I've been in all sorts of terrains: dense urban near landmarks, beaches, ponds etc. and I have used my Nikon D40 like an M60.

Much to my delight I have also captured a lot of memorable moments and scenes in pictures that - in some instances - I am pleased with.

In the back of my mind have been this assignment (I'll get you for this Drazen!! LOL)..and I still haven't captured a single image that to me is the - or even an - answer to the assignment! So, no patti - no top hand here :-)

However, if I end up having no picture to submit, I have enjoyed the process a lot. The thinking, the discussion here, the shooting and the being out and about with a mission in mind.

This is so much better than say "take a flattering picture of your toes" or something to that effect..lol.

...but before you start taking out extra mortgages on your winner-prizes, (lol) let me tell you that I haven't given up yet!!

Cheers :-)

Well, after all I must say that I’m pretty happy with theme selection for Feb:). I’ll post my entry as soon as I can. I like your shot Bob! 10 days ago I have got my FIRST job, just after I have graduate few months ago, so I travel a lot. Every day 150km with my car and haven’t much time for taking photos, except over weekends. Now when I have my own money I consider some upgrades…maybe even a new camera…I love smell of Nikon, although 400D works just fine for me :):).

Cheers!!!

Well, upgrade, for example, from 400D+18-55mm to Nikon D80+18-135mm cost me around 400E which is pretty much:(. Maybe in some fore coming future when D80’s prices drop a bit, but for now I’ll stick to 400D. Maybe I get some IS lenses. 17-85 sounds fine and then later on battery grip so I can boost ergonomics.

BTW, what I really missed on 400D is spot metering and grid in viewfinder.

Cheers!
