Anyone know of a batch raw converter than is free and is optimised for speed? I'm working on my laptop away from home and it's... very old (Pentium M 1.5 GHz). DPP is taking about a minute per raw from the 7D even on the "fast" setting. Image quality is secondary here! Speed is the priority.

Ufraw, maybe? Altough I think the batch processor only works from the command line.

What do you require of the converter other than speed?
If you just want a drag and drop converter, try RAWDrop:
http://www.wizards.de/rawdrop/
If you don't need full size photos, check the half size option.

You might want to grab a binary optimised for more recent processors, e. g. from here:

At the time I was away from home with only an old laptop, so I was looking for something that could convert a load of raws quickly. Never found one. Since then I've got a new faster laptop so it isn't important any more. Thanks though, might come in handy still.

I didn't look at the post's date, sorry about that.

It might come in handy anyway, though - it is pretty fast, particularly in half size mode.
