Hey all,

Took some shots today at the indoor rocking climbing competition here in St. John's, Newfoundland. All are flashed with either the soft box (wireless, bounced, or direct), and others are with a ring flash - namely the close up hand shots and the DJ mixer. As per one of my friend's predictions - The ring flash was only beneficial at 17 mm, other than that it just dissipated the light with minimal disguisable difference. This would be really nice with a wide angle. Anyway, just thought I'd share 'em. I'll link the video when that's done which I also shot later this week if that tickles your fancy. For the video we had 3 soft boxes on constant 100w light - intense.

As always, CC welcome!

Trevor

I really like number 3 and the idea of having a mixing deck at rock climbing event.

I really like the shots! I think they convey the concentration and intensity of rock climbing really well. Except for the shot with the DJ and the dude behind him, quite literaly just haning around :D I especially like the close ups.
What lenses did you use for the shots?
Cheers

Sorry, should have added that info. I was using a D200 - Tamron f/2.8 17-50 mm combined with a SB-600 with, as mentioned above, 4x5 softbox, or ring flash.
