New here also - although a long time review reader and website lurker :)

Just bought myself a D7000 body, and with some advice from the peeps here, went ahead and bought the 18-200mm VRII. Can't wait to start shooting away... battery is charged, however my inital memory card purchase was NAFF so i'm waiting for some more to arrive.

Thanks guys.

I certainly will enter the monthly assignment.... i got a bit excited on my trip to Marrakesh taking just over a 1000 pics in 9 days. I'm sure I can find 1 or 2 in there which fall into the monthly assignment :)

Welcome Rups,

The 18-200mm VRII for me is fantastic because of its versatility, I just jumped from the D40x to the D7000 3 weeks ago and happy for the ease of use. I've read the manual quite a few times, Gordon's review and others. I don't think I'll use all the D7000 fine tuning facilities it has, I wonder how many do. The my menu is a great feature for me although I have only 4-5 set in there.

Photos entered in the monthly assignment must be taken in that month.

I cannot find the post where something like this phase came from.

"Every photo will have a critic no matter how good you think it is, it's the nature of photographers"

Cheers
