Hi All,

My name is Peter, having recently moved from Dorset in the UK to Brunei in Borneo, I realised that you can't move to a tropical country like this and not take up photography. Tropical sunsets, thunderstorms and wildlife make it a must.

As the thread title suggests I am totally new to photography, so I brought a Canon 1000D, EF-S 55-250 glass (see technical term already) to go with the 18-55mm that came with the kit.

I have taken a few point and shoot photos, but have relaised that I need to avoid the Automatic button and learn to take real photos.

Anyway that's why I am here and hope to learn a few tips & tricks from you guys in the future
