Hmmm, translucent labs... maybe semi-reflective labs would be better!

I played around with both the A55 and A33 in my local camera store.
I currently own a Nikon D40, in next six months I am looking to upgrade.
I enjoy photographing birds.Quick focusing is essentail, these cameras focus extremely quick and it appeared to be accurate also. I like how it felt in my hands.

Hello, I am looking to buy a new camera. I was interested in the Sony HX100V but recently I started checking some reviews for alpha 33/55. Is it worth spending the extra money in either one of those models? Is the photography quality that much better?
I am not looking to do fancy photos, family, trips, etc. I have a ZS7 Lumix and the night or indoor quality is really frustrating sometimes.

A camera with a bigger sensor, be it a traditional DSLR, an EVIL hybrid or a Sony SLT will give you much better quality in low light. If you're happy to carry a bigger camera and sacrifice the mega zoom range of a compact, then I'd say go for it.
