I'm trying to find a wide angle lens on a budget.

I'm having trouble deciding between the Sigma f4-5.6 10-20mm and the Tamron f3.5-4.5 10-24mm. Is one possibly a little better than the other in your opinion?

I'm traveling to Europe and wanting something wide for architecture and interiors. I need to keep it under $500. I would hold out for a $700-800 lens, but the trip is coming, and I've got so many other things to purchase.

Thank you.

Someone mentioned the Tokina 12-24. Is that a better way to go?

Have a think about the Tokina 11-16 as well. It gives an f2.8 which will be useful for low light. I am a fan of the Sigma, but these are all much for much. The Canon 10-22 and Nikon 10-24 are probably a little better, but it depends what you want.

the tamron 10-24 is one of the softest wide angle lenses I ever saw...
go with either the tokina 11-16 F/2.8 or the sigma 8-16 if you want maximum sharpness. (if you don't need F/2.8 for darker conditions, the sigma has better CA control & focuses faster)
