What do you think telephoto prime lens? like the 200mm F2.8? I know its not a zoom but I think the optical is impressive. Has anyone tried this lens for some long range shots? like Candid, mid-range wild life and some sports or even some outdoor portrait?

The brand new is around £600, Used is £400.

Love the 200 f2.8, its the only lens canon make that I wish Nikon did. Pin sharp, small, fast

the only thing that concern me is its very limited compare to 70-200m it covers pretty much everything, right?

The only lenses I have are 50mm F1.8 and 18-55mm Kit lens.

You may find it quite limiting. 200mm on a cropped sensor is quite long with nothing between that and 55mm, but then again, the 70-200 is a lot more money

By the way im talking about 70-200mm F4 L USM not F2.8 Hehe. It is long its equivalent to 320mm O_O, the f4 L 70-200mm cost around £488 brand new.

Currently uploading an archive of some recent full-size Sigma 70-200 shots, will post the link here when I'm finished.

@Citruspers
:) thanks been waiting for it haha.

@to my post
I think I was looking at 200mm F2.8 L MK1 instead of II, I wonder what's the difference between the two.

Allright, here it is. Some recent shots with the 70-200. EXIF data should still be intact, and the shots with an underscore before their filename were taken with the 4.1 megapixel D2H.

Thanks citruspers :), I have a question is it okay to have a lens like the 200mm F2.8 with a built-in lens hood? O_o seems like thats the difference between the MKI and MKII 200mm F2.8.

@Citruspers
Did you use it on a crop sensor or full frame?
