I love street people photography in an everyday natural environment. Although I like many I shot of the 1200+ at the Gold Coast Marathon, (42 kilometres/26 miles) this one is my favourite. I was at the half way point so I could capture the strain and pain of the runners starting to show.

The physique of this guy does not lend itself to the image of a marathon runner but I admire him for having a go. John was placed 4,509 out of 4,531 finishers, a great effort, name from shirt.

If you ever see John again, tell him that I say hello (Although I think that it would really confuse him! )

Hi folks,

On a housekeeping note, I've made this thread "Sticky", like the previous "2009" thread was (I unstuck it), so that it's readily available for members to add to over the next months.

Bob.

OK, I'll follow suit with Citruspers and post both the viewers' choice (most views) and my personal favorite, and guess what? They're the same:

Shot on April 29, 2010 in Izmir, Turkey.
Nikon D80 w/ 50 mm 1:1.8D set to f/10, 1/160 sec and ISO 200 on Aperture Priority. Light-to-moderate PP, mostly for color "incorrection" to get the lake-of-fire effect.

My favourite for the year....
The experience of the session with these bears over two days will be with me for life!

I'm taking too long to decide so you get both :)

Sushi for lunch!

Canon EOS 7D at 800 ISO, 1/1250; Canon EF 100-400mm at 180mm, f6.3; vertical crop only.

My best photos from 2010 came from a short but unforgettable trip to view bears at Brooks Falls in Alaska. Anyone who's interested in visiting Brooks Falls may enjoy my Bear Viewing article.
