I think if that website is heavily coded by a pro programmer they can probably view those people without loosing any details after all its a website .

That systems is pretty amazing.
I can definitely see some practical uses for it, however at that cost it might have to wait a while...

Gigapan is an awesome system but pretty heavy. An upgraded tripod might well be required as well.

Don't forget if you get into the realm of big panoramas, you'll be needing a lot of processing power.

My biggest was a 108 shot pano, which ended up giving my old laptop a 12 hour coronary! And that's only 0.09 Gigapixels - it's not exactly a top spec laptop, mind you!

That gigapan was handheld, but you can get away with a standard tripod mount or panoramic head as well
