Hi everyone,

Another year is nearly over and for the last few years there has been a very popular thread for everybody to showcase/exhibit the best or most favourite photo you have taken in the past year. As we are now in the last month of 2010 i thought it would be nice to continue this thread and do the same again this year. You may only submit one photograph. Your photo does not have to necessarily be your best, just your favourite that you have taken in 2010 and a few words explaining why you have chosen the particular photograph. As this is a showcase/exhibit for your photos it is not necessary to add any cc to work shown on this thread. Also, it would be nice if submitted photos could be kept to sizes of no more than 1024 pixels on their longest side please.
So please everybody post your best shot of 2010 here! Its SHOWTIME!

Regards Sue.

My favourite photo of this year is Pink blossom. Natures beautiful blossom only lasts a short while and i managed to get this picture before the wind and rain damaged its beauty. Sue

This was my favourite for 2010, the reason being that I have played a lot with streaking lights and long exposures this year and after many attempts got the picture I was after which is quite rare for me as I am very picky about the shots I upload!! So I was very proud of this one and it makes me smile when I look at it.....

For some reason this thread didn't pop up when I searched "best shot of 2010" in the forum. Wonder why?

I had a chance to upgrade my DSLR earlier this year, and I've never regretted it. Of the photos I've posted online this one of a northern flicker is probably my favorite, although I'm not sure it's the best. I really love the colors in this photo, and the sharpness and clarity came out well. I'm especially fond of the way you can see the other parent blurred in the background, on the tree, next to their nest hole.

Though I haven't processed all my shots from 2010 yet, and I might find some I really like soon, this is probably my favourite shot of 2010. Best? I can't be the judge for that, but this is the picture I'd first get printed and hung up on my wall.

This would probably be one of the best (In my opinion). I scanned it, as it was film using the Nikon FM. Hopefully I'll get some better shots in 2011!

According to my deviantart statistics, this shot is the "viewer's choice":

Image

Still, this is the one photo that always manages to make me smile:

(If anyone has a problem with me posting both the "viewer's choice" and the "personal choice", I'll of course remove one)

Being an Olympic year, this one is my favourite.
People lining up for an exhibit in front of the Olympic Clock …

I've linked this one because it contains some profanity and an innocent party (well, an innocent couple and suggestive graffiti with an onlooker):

http://www.flickr.com/photos/53061745@N02/4976817070/

I took this down a dark alley in Seoul in the summer. It's cropped, ISO1600, and 4/3 sensor, so I hope you like noise!

The original had some other interesting activity, and if I linked it you would see why I originally went for the wider shot.

Here's another taken in the same spot in the daytime:
