Haha, very nice shots you have there! :D

I really do like the second, it seems as it the camera did a good job metering on the sky, while still keeping the bird at a fair exposure. Plus, it was taken at an interesting angle, showing the side of the bird as opposed to the bottom. I must say, it takes patience and skill to take good photos of birds. If I want to even get a moderately decent shot of a bird, I need to go find a pack of them at the garbage dump! :)

I totally agree with the consensus here. These photographs are beautiful. I also agree with Evan on his comments concerning the angled shots of the birds. When taking photographs of birds from the underneath (I know this from bird watching classes), you generally don't get to photograph a bird sideways.

Anyway, great photos! By the way, what kind of birds are those? The name is on the tip of my tongue, but I can't tell. My uncle was always more of a bird watcher than me. I just tagged along for trips and classes. ;)

I believe these are Black-crowned Night Herons.
