 Post subject: the a560 & a580 news
PostPosted: Sat Sep 18, 2010 1:13 pm
Was told this morning that the a560 & a580 will not be coming to Australia and will be released in the same markets as the a450.

This is a huge shame and having played with the a33 I can see me jumping.

the a33 is the worst camera I have ever touched, too small, the evf is no good and I don't care about video. I want better low light performance and these lose light.

Next week they will “probably” be announcing the new 7xx, but it’s a given that it will be very pricey and pro geared.
Strange that Australians can’t buy cameras on-line and have them imported like everyone else.

You may want to consider the new D7000, I would think it’s class leading (currently anyway) and you still get that great Sony sensor from the A55.

Australians can order online from anywhere if they like!

But it is bad to hear Sony Oz isn;'t doing them as it means Sony NZ is also unlikely to have them, which means doing a review will be hard. But I haven't specifically heard that to be the case at my end...

True, however, Sony's warranty do not cover internationally unlike other brands.

Only very few outlets sell Sony camera products with international warranty.

@Anthony
I bought the 580 from Hong Kong through ebay and had a 1 year international warranty.

Antony, that's right, but the warranty is normally just for one year and how many cameras have you had break during that time? Maybe I'm lucky, but I haven't had any problems during the first 12 months.
