Seems Apple was more interested in showing off holiday slideshows and forgot about this but I find this quite interesting. Hard to see what any negative side effects could be but it seems to fix the problem in the small youtube video. Example video is from a D90.

Not sure if this is a new feature but iMovie in iLife 09 has a stabilise function in it, there is a tutorial on Apple's website about using it
