Dear Camera Labs friends,

As you have noticed, there is indeed a tie in September's Assignment, and, due to a number of reasons, of which a very full schedule is indeed the primary reason, I have only been able to just close the voting poll.
However, since a tie hasn't occured anytime before, to my knowledge anyway, I too have some difficulty deciding who will be the winner. If both you winners could agree on a theme, that'd be great! I've emailed Gordon to ask what's the best thing to do at this moment. The winners, congrats by the way :) , will get to know what action we'll take asap!

In the meanwhile, you can fire up those thinking engines and come up with some theme suggestions!

Thanks for the understanding on being somewhat late, and thanks Sue for the PM reminder (read it when logging on to close the poll  ).

PS: Just a thought, if you'd both like to come up with a theme (and I imagine you will), perhaps we can combine those themes into a combined theme. Or, to be more clear:
- sonnyboy chooses, say, "Tall"
- Jagadish_C, chooses, say, "Architecture"
That'd combine to "Tall architecture", "Skyscrapers", etc.

We'll see what Mr. Laing thinks...

And the theme is... [drum roll] ... "Night shots/Long exposure shots. Exposure should be 5 seconds or more."

Thanks to sonnyboy and Jagadish_C for settling on this theme together, I'm sure we'll get to see a great variety of entries once again, and it'll be a fun Assignment!

So is that

1) it has to be night shots taken with long exposures

or

2) night shots or long exposures?

Either way, great assignment idea....

Good question AL - Bjorn, could you check with the winners if the submissions have to be taken at night? technically speaking, you could do a five second exposure in the daytime with ND filters to blur water for example...

I'm thinking it should be night-time only though...

But on the other hand, there are certainly night time pictures that don't require long exposures (such as shots of the moon). Those would count under the second interpretation, but not under the first. I'm curious as to which was intended as well.

Yes good questions :)

If I may quote Sonnyboy when we wrere contemplating over the theme, this is what he had in mind:
"long exposure night shots of at least 5 seconds"

It will be better once Sonny confirms on this.

Regards,
