Well I know this is abit late as I have been a member a few months now but I thought it would be rude if I didn't introduce myself.

I have just used P&S cameras in the past but would now like to get into SLR's. I had an old Nikon F55 which I brought when I was in UK (10 years) but ended up using it for one holiday and then digital technology just took over and never used it again. I have a family now and think it would nice to be able to take some nice photos and also do some classes or even join a club to learn more. In saying this, I have learnt loads just being on this forum.

I am looking for a DSLR and am undecided (though will be a Nikon) which will, either be the D3100 or D7000. I have got a big bag which I now think is too big and might sell and get something else (Crumpler 7 Million Brazilian Home) and also brought a lens, ended up getting a Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM so has constant aperture of 2.8 through out the zoom range and also is new so has OS. Always told, put your money into your lens and not your body and don't use kit lens. So I have taken this advice on board.

I do Real Estate as my job but when I get better would like to be able to photograph houses so will be on the look out for a wide angle (Tokina 11-16mm looks good) rather than pay someone else to do which I always do. Photography so important when marketing a property.

Anyway thats enough about me...

Welcome Aidan, Ive seen you around!

For real estate photography, check out Dom Bower on youtube, I think he has some videos on it which may prove useful.

Good luck getting into digital, Ive just converted too!
