Just thought some here might find this general video helpful. Covers all camera types from point-and-shoot, to SLR, to hot-shoe flash.

Dear Anel-slo,
For your information I am not a "bot" and I joined this forum because I like to share educational vidoes that I make. People with an attitude like yours make me wonder if it's worthwhile. In most places that I share these I get a lot of thanks. You're welcome.
Phil

We had a couple of problems with members registring only to promote their own material, that's why some members can be a bit...rude about your postings.

I'm not a moderator, but I think it would be appreciated if you participate in the discussions a bit, other than just post your links. Perhaps even take requests from members.

It's healthy to build good rapport within the community before posting your own videos. Especially if the editor here does video's as well. We welcome you to the community, and look forward to your contributions, I'm sure.

On a side note: I've seen your video's before; 2 weeks ago, I was researching a flash purchase for my company and found your videos. So I am happy to have you contributing to CameraLabs.

Thanks Daniel for the kind words. And I'm really glad you've found my video tutorials useful in your purchase decisions! It takes a lot of work to create these videos and share them with the world. When people make unfriendly comments it makes me sometimes wonder if I should just take my marbles and go home.

As for getting more involved with the community, it's true I could spend more time prowling the forums, chatting, answering questions, etc. But I feel like my time is much better spent taking the questions that people ask me most often, and then producing a video that illustrates the answer, and then sharing that video with tens of thousands of people by posting it on YouTube and in forums like this. I feel like that's the biggest gift that I can give, with the potential to help the most people.

And I always appreciate hearing from people like you who have found my stuff helpful.

Hi Phil,

Good to have you on board. You have some great videos that are helping me with my introduction to off camera flash.

It's a small world tho... I registered with your mailing list only last week.

Mirageii - Thanks, I'm glad you've found my flash videos helpful!

Anel-slo - Thanks for apologizing. No worries. I just took a look at your blog and you have some kick-ass photos there with great off-camera flash technique and beautiful post-production. I hope you share more!
