Nightclub Photographer

Media company seeks enthusiastic nightclub photographer:

- Take pictures of patrons in nightclubs
- Friday and/or Saturday Nights 11 pm- 2:30 am
- Have own camera equipment
- Upload photos to FTP for posting on website
- Car is an asset

Compensation: based on experience and efficiency.

It's a fun job and you get to meet and take photos of hot people in the industry!

Hi Westcoast,

are you tempted? It might be fun for a little bit, but imagine doing it week-end after week-end..drunken patrons reaching for your gear, inebriated women posing suggestively, everyone wanting to see the shots on the LCD, some even getting angry that you take their picture, people constantly bumping into you..and you bring your own gear...whew.

On the other hand it could be quite the experience..but effectively one might need a D3s and the new 24mm F1.4 AF-S, a flash bracket with two shoes and two flashes, to really be able to get something other than blurry, poorly lit shots...lol.

I wonder what they'd pay though....probably an hourly wage no higher than $40-50 would be my guess (perhaps even less)...

Let us know if you go for it though! would be interesting to hear about how it is!

Lahlah: I've shot stage performances with my D2h and a 35 1.8
Nightclub photography wouldn't really be my thing though...and it's quite a drive from the Netherlands!

Heh..Citruspers, I don't doubt it. Perhaps I'm envisioning the VERY dark nightclubs I frequented in my early youth when I said D3s before..lol.
And yeah, it's a bit of a commute for you every week-end if you were to take it..

I might consider it if I didn't have any paying gigs at all and I'm sure it's a very educational experience!

I'm just kidding, of course. Having shot a few school dances in my younger days and even recently, I'd hate it. Lighting sucks, the music is loud and people are obnoxious. Every time i'd get to a venue, I'd facepalm and announce loudly to who ever was running as my wingman "I forget that last time I said I'd never do this again regardless, and if I had to I'd bring ear plus"

But try it out--it might not be bad.
