I've barely done any portrait type images, and was just using an ef-s 18-55, but I'm reasonably happy with what I managed. I think I overdid the PP a bit though.

Sox looks really nice (great focus) so does the photo, but the surrounding is distracting, the twigs above his right ear, maybe seeing more of the pot too would of been better (Just my opinion)
