Any recommendations on some "PP" Software for Mac other than those sold by Apple? Want to keep it simple, but works well!

I'm a photoshop user myself. If your looking for something cheap or free I'd suggest GIMP. However I have never used GIMP myself so I don't know how well it stacks up to photoshop.

To be honest aperture (apple's PP software) is less complicated then either gimp or photo shop and less expensive.

If you go the photoshop route, there are plenty of tutorial videos available to help you. This makes photoshop easier to pick up. Unfortunately photoshop is quite expensive *cough*bit torrent*cough*

Gimp, though powerful, isn't exactly...intuitive is my experience.
I'd say iPhoto would be your first stop for simple edits, and I believe it's bundled with most macs. Step-ups would be Apple Aperture and Adobe Lightroom, but bear in mind that with great power, comes great...learning curves

You also have the camera manufacturers own software. Canon usually ship it for free with your camera and Nikon charge you for Capture NX2

I use Photoshop CS5, Lightroom 3 and Capture NX2.. All good in their own ways.

I'd suggest Lightroom 3.
