Finally I got one of these green mettalic diptera with patience for my shoots

f/11 | 1/125s | iso 100 | FEC +1/3
Canon T1i with Canon MP-E 65mm @ 5x.
580 EX II flash bracket mounted with a LumiQuest Mini SoftBox diffuser near the lens and silver bounce at right.

Hi gmazza,

are those cataracts or early onset myopia I see? lol. You continue to impress with these incredible close-ups and this is no exception.

Would I like a 10X20 foot print above my bed ? Probably not, but you sure produce some wondrous pictures :-)

Lol ! Thanks for the comment, not sure about the "dead pixels" in the compound eye, it was dry at the time of photo, so could be cataracts or just pigment changes.
