Just been announced, saw via 43rumors.

Native mount for micro4/3. Manual focus, manual aperture with change from 900 euros.

Anyone interested? I'm not a fan of manual focus on the E-P1 so I'll pass.

Sounds quite interesting, but I'll pass on the micro4/3 system. Only 900 euros for f/0.95 though, that's great!

I agree: pass. I'll stick with my 20mm f1.7 "pancake". Sure, it's two stops slower, but it has AF and electronic aperture control, and it costs half as much.

Why would they release a manual focus lens for something without an OVF? I've heard good things about the PEN's EVF, and although I've yet to try it, I don't really like the sound of it.

Panasonic G3: 9-18mm, 14mm, 20mm, 45mm

There's a whole bunch of people who use m4/3 cameras as a cheap alternative to Leica, but they still want the fast glass. If anything, using the screen is better than a SLR style optical viewfinder at this point, as you can never see the DoF adequately in the viewfinder when it is ultra-shallow.

There's also the manual focus assist (which ironically would have to be triggered manually on this lens, so it's a manual manual focus assist ) which magnifies part of the image, thus making it relatively easy to confirm focus even on the EVF or LCD.
