Hi guy's as a owner of a Konica Minolta Dynax 7D with a 18mm-200mm lens I get some excellent shot's except when the
operator does not take the time, However what I'm wondering about
is how the Sony A850 would compare with the
Dynax 7D, has anyone had the chance to try the Sony A850 in any
shape or form and If what did they think of It ? It's always good
to get some feed back before you part with your hard earned.

I have been using the A900 for almost 2 years now, best camera I have ever owned and the A850 is just a 900 with <100% viewfinder and 3fps.
It is a full frame camera so I believe the APS-C 18-200 lens would warrant switching the FF camera to "crop" mode, ie. 24.6mp to about 14mp. You really need proper full frame lenses for that camera.
Don't know anything about Dynax 7D.

Hi Farmer Dave , the lens on my current Minolta digital camera is A
AF DT 18-200 . Are you saying I would need a different kind to
suit the A850 Sony ? ( which is what I was worried about) It's
a very good one ! thanks for the feed back !

Yes, you will need a full frame lens for the A850. Most Minolta lenses from 35mm film days would work well. You actually need very high quality lenses like Carl Zeiss and G series to make the 24.6mp shine.
You are better off with other Sony APS-C cameras if you intend not to spend money on lenses.

thanks for your help dave , If I need to buy a lens to suit the body
of the A850 I can have a look at a few more brands as well, but
would never consider buying a new body and not a suitable lens .
pointless having a cart and no horse Oui?
