Squirrel?
The largest squirrel known to mankind.

Image
ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/100 sec (0.01), 300 mm

The Alpine marmot is the largest squirrel species. Completely ignored me and kept scratching its belly. That's why I always carry at least the 70-300 with me.

Lens used: Nikon AF-S VR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G

Squirrel eating a bird egg...something I never even knew they did! (Sony A550, Tamron 200-500mm lens):
Image

Squirrels in my front yard, who are spoiled rotten from being fed fresh peanuts daily and clean water put out for them (Sony A550, Sony SAL18-250mm lens - late afternoon light, and strong backlighting, so had to use ISO800 to 1600 for most of these):

Squirrel time again! I was feeding my buddies this weekend in my front yard, and decided to grab the 300mm F4 APO this time for some crisp shots:

Crisp indeed! The dof in that third shot is outstanding. I take it you're enjoying the lens?

Oh yes! Back when I got it, part of me kept wondering 'did I really need to spend that money for a lens with a focal range I already have covered?' and 'is F4 really all that big of a deal, compared to F5.6?'.

Answer to all questions - YES!

The very very bad flipside to getting the lens...I now find myself hunting for the 400 F4.5 and the 600 F4 primes, and waiting for Sony's supposed new 500 F4 prime. Which all would probably cost me 5-figures, and all for a hobby. I need to be named the CEO of some massive corporation, or win a Powerball lottery. That would solve many problems.

not one of my best, but the little guy kept moving every millisecond... So it was hard to freeze him at times, no crop.

Oh boy, you have a wonderful collection of those cuties here!
And with my eternal mod-powers I aptly renamed the thread to "Squirrels: The Definitive Thread".
Keep on chasing those little buggers 8)
