This was released sometime last week. The improvements brought are:
  • Added Movie editing function on playback mode palette. You can divide a movie into multiple segments and erase unwanted segments from the movie.
  • Added Electronic Level indication on the Monitor. When Mode dial is set M or X and Electronic Level is set to display, exposure meter is indicated (both of them) in the LCD panel and in the Viewfinder
  • Added [Reversal Film] mode on Custom Image function and [PENTAX Digital Camera Utility 4] have been updated.
  • When using Live View, auto focus activates by pressing the shutter release button halfway. Also improved focus speed

I've noticed that contrast detect AF in live view mode has improved quite significantly. The new reversal film mode looks very interesting. To have a look at what the images look like when this look profile is enabled, see http://www.alphamountworld.com/reviews/ ... 7?page=0,7

All in all, this is a very impressive update. Download it from http://www.pentax.jp/english/support/digital/k-7_s.html

Bonsoir Philip,

Thank for the summary about update 1.10 :) .

I can't find this feature on the menus  How to get it :?:

This is really nice when the camera is on a tripod. The large rear LCD screen provides a perfect feed-back to fine-tunning the horizontality of the camera.

I'm not sure the K-7 is suitable for movie, as I've experimented it. MovieMaker on Windows and iMovie on Mac OS X provide better editing features on a larger screen

Best regards,

You access it via the Look Profile button, on the right of the "OK" button on the back of the camera. It should be the profile on the end, after B/W. It's an interesting look, and it reminds me of slide film like Fujifilm Velvia :)

Bonjour,

Thank you for the tip :)

Actually, I'm using my K-7 in French, so Reversal Film was translated into Diapositive, which means Slide.

The Fujifilm Velvia reference helped me to find the correspondence.

Thanks again :!:
