Darn it - if you'd answered RAW it would have been easy. As it is, after getting the possibility that DPP is saving the files somewhere other than where you are expecting out of the way, I'm at bit of a loss. Does any other application on your computer exhibit the same problem? Assuming something obscure hasn't happened to your folder permissions under Vista/Win7 or the files have got marked as "Read Only", then all I can suggest is copying the JPEGs to a new folder and try editing and saving them to that folder using Paint. If that works try the same deal with DPP. If that works then there's either an issue with your permissions or you might want to run the error checking utility - right-click on the drive, select Properties, then the Tools tab and click the "Check Now" button.
