Hi folks,

Sony have announced three new compact cameras, namely the DSC-WX5, DSC-TX9 and the DSC-T99. A summary can be found in their press release and the individual models are already listed on the Sony (UK) website.

Bob.

Sony and all their compacts... If only they'd launch some new higher end DSLRs.
1080i video sounds good though, and the fact that you can use the TX9 and T99 underwater is great!

Interesting mention of processed background defocus in there. Has that been put into a compact before?

I think I'll wait for the HX5 replacement before I get really excited though...

I have have read background defocus takes two shots, one in focus and one out of focus, and uses that information to produce software based bokeh.
