Hi everyone, pro-photographer, friend of Cameralabs and all-round nice guy Chase Jarvis recently posted an excellent article detailing his workflow, storage and backup. This is something we touched upon during my interview with him, but in nowhere near the detail I was after - now it's all revealed in his article here: ... oto-video/

I'd love to know the IT budget.

Nice video. I was with him right up until he explained the convoluted and error prone off site backup solution. Why don't they simply have a nightly cron job that rsync's to one of the many off site backup services?

Still interesting though.

Nice setup :) though he might want to consider is a wireless file transmitter such as this one to transfer the files to his laptop which could then be setup to automatically send them via FTP to the server and studio.

Thus his friend doing editing on site could instead be in the studio possibly thousands of miles away receiving the pictures from Chase Jarvis the very moment he takes them. There is no reason you should have to physically move data in this day and age.
