Is there any word on when this lens will be "in stock" in the states? I have the 18-70 and 18-135 now and will gladly sell both once the 18-200VR is available.

Hi Johnhimm, welcome to the Cameralabs forums!

We feel your pain! The Nikkor 18-200mm is in short supply all over the world. I just checked Amazon.com though and they're claiming it's in stock - see the following link:

Nikkor 18-200mm at Amazon.com

They seem to be coming available in the UK now - local shop says they get stock quite often now. Nikon seems to keep stocks for smaller shops - Jessops (v. big in the UK) say they are not expecting any for months.

My local shop has them in stock today - Castle Cameras 01202 526606. Excellent shop - web site is not one of the best but don't be put off. They have been around for years. Ask for Sarah. They had one put by for me, but I have sourced elsewhere now, so as of 11AM Friday 18th they have one on the shelf!!

Currently selling at 499 GBP - not sure about P&P.

If you quote GBP prices, I assume they are including VAT?!
How much tax is it?
If you take roughly 1GBP = 1.5 EUR, that seems to be a fair price for the lens.

If I had the money I'd buy one at that price.

That's including VAT (17.5%)

I got the D80 and 18-200 for 999 GBP with TAX and delivery. (Aj Purdy)
