Any one have any tips?

I am planning a 10,000 mile road trip from Vancouver to LA, to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, lots of Utah, Wyoming (Yellowstone/Grand Teton), Idaho, Montana, Washingon, then back home to Vancouver...

I'm bringing a Nikon D40 with a 16-85mm and CPL filter. Thats all I can afford so that is all I'll be using...anyone done such a trip/phototrip? Any advice appreciated..

Have enough time to spend to wait for that 'perfect' time of the day for a great shot.

Take as many CF/SD cards as possible for the entire trip. OR use a laptop with an external drive to back them up then erase on the card.

Remember all the 'rules' in photography, as you may forget them from all the rush and excitement you may or may not have.

btw the Nebo Loop JUST opened today here in Utah. Worth seeing this time of year and WAY great to see during Autumn.

Are there lots of Photographic Pullouts @ the Nebo Loop?

Yeah, I think around 5-6 big ones, then some random pull offs as well.

You maybe want to buy a polorizer. (filter)
Nice to take beautiful shots with the blue air.

Just picked up a Hoya HD CPL filter. It works great!

Theyre awesome arent they? Just a warning, they are very easy to overuse

of many things, most know that the CPL deepens the blues (compare the pictures by Liquid-Turbo), but better yet, it cuts down on the glare (compare the tree on the left)...
