I just bought my EOS 40D and had to wait for ages because some delays with UPS.

The next picture was taken when my cat Isabella first saw my new camera...

Image

EOS 40D
Speed 1/16
f 5.7
Focal Length 105mm
ISO 200
Auto Levels in CS

I hope you like it.

Great shot, at such a slow shutter speed too!

Sorry

I forgot to mention that I shot several pictures with fill in flash in order to have more detail in the background, and I shot this close up with the flash on. At lower speeds the results are quite nice. Without flash, this picture would have been impossible since it was a very short time to frame and focus.

Cheers

Congrats on your 40D!! That's a great camera body no doubt.
The cat is great, especially the eyes.

This is my 3rd camera... I had one AE-1 with a 50mm FD lens, Rebel K2 with 28-90mm USM and now the 40D with 28-105mm USM.

It's like riding a bike and then a Ferrari :P

I'm saving now to buy my first L IS lens, which probably be the 24-105mm

Oh yeah!!! I'm having so much fun running to catch my cats which I find very eye catching... This is a photo from my first cat Neka. She was very patient and stood still every time I asked. I really like shooting in low light conditions, and I try to take advantage of the last drop of sun.
Here are the details:

EOS 40D
Speed 1/6
f 5
Focal Length 45mm
ISO 160
NO FLASH
Auto Levels in CS
Note: The reflection in her eyes is the reflection of my room's window, but looks like a soft box I have to say!

Image

P.S. I have 4 cats, all females... I think that I'm a cat person :P
