Who inspires you? That's what I'd like to know. What photographer(s) do you admire? Which of his photos do you like most(if you can even choose)? Do you think you can make similar images?

As a source of inspiration both for yourself as well as other enthusiasts here on CL, I'd like you all to post your currently favorite photographers (with links to galleries please).

I'll start:
I've recently learned about one of the worlds' Top 10 Wedding photographers, Jeff Ascough, who produces some fantastic available light wedding photography. His work really inspires me and matched the kind of photography I like to do.

Here's his website:
http://www.jeffascough.com/

And his blog:

Steve Kossack, and above all, Art Wolfe.

Art has a wonderful wonderful wonderful (did I say wonderful enough times?) called "Travels to the Edge". But Kossack gives more technical information.

Jeff is brilliant indeed, such inspirational picture, not only for available-light kinda guys like myself.

Thanks Luis for sharing those two names! I'll check out some of their work once I'm back on a computer.

Hi,
First of all, nice thread, Bjorn! Can have really inspiring ideas.
I have been reading 100 ways to take better landscape photographs by Guy Edwardes and found his photos really wonderful, inspiring and creative. He gives a full explanation for each of the photos, which I found very helpful. As to if I can take such photos, maybe I can if I am willing to work that hard and spend that much time on every shot!
Jinay.

Annie Leibovitz without a doubt. Her portraits are works of art and i love them. Many of her photos are actors, actresses, famous people etc but the photos and their settings are outstanding . My favourite is the naked Lance Armstrong riding his bike. Brilliant.

Annie Leibovitz/Lance Armstrong

Some truly wonderful photos, worth checking out. Just google her name and portraits, and you will see for yourself, this outstanding womans work.

My biggest inspiration is Jimmy Chin. He is an adventure/travel photographer, sponsored athlete, and gets to travel all over the world to crazy places doing what he loves. Who wouldn't want that eh?

http://www.jimmychin.com/#s=0&mi=1&pt=0 ... 1&a=0&at=0

Another one is the late Galen Rowell... Need I say more.

And of course Chase Jarvis. I love his brand and approach towards photography, and I would highly recommend picking up his book: "The best Camera is the one that is with you". All of the pictures are taken with his Iphone, and they put all of mine to shame.
