So, after a year of photographing, I thought it was time to buy myself an air blower. My sensors were dusty like the insides of my PC a week ago, so a cleaning was neccesary.

I went to my local camera store, and, although they did not have the Giotto's rocket air in stock (the one Gordon recommended), they did have the Vanguard Lenspen.

To cut to the conclusion prematurely, I like it!

Here's how it looks. It's quite bit, but that's mostly a good thing, since it has a higher air capacity:



As you've probably noticed, this state is used for transport. The brush is concealed in a sliding mechanism. You can see it slid open, here:



The air blower is fully functional with the brush, so you can do both at the same time. However, if you need more power without contact (for the sensor area for instance), you can screw off the brush pad, and it reveals the real blower part:



Finally, there's also a velours pad to be used for lens cleaning. I've tested it and it works quite well!



So, concluding, this is a very fine blower, and a very compelling offer since it's priced the same as the large rocket air (15 euros here). The only downside is it's size, do not expect to put this in your toploader bag.

that velours pad gave of some black dust on the version i bought.
So make sure your's doesn't before you try it in your camera.

Thanks for the warning! I will NEVER use that pad on my sensor/mirror, but it worked fine on my lenses.

The pad can be removed so I presume it's replacable, although I haven't looked at the pricing for a replacement.
I don't have anything to measure here, but it's about as long as my Sigma 70-200 2.8 (without hood).
