>"nothing became of [Kodak's] CMOS strategy"

Key word there: "strategy". i.e. it was a business decision, not anything to do with the tech. (CCD vs CMOS)

And it's not like CCD doesn't have issues of its own--vertical smear and power consumption to name two.

Plus, these are still primarily still (picture) cameras, and rolling shutter isn't a huge deal when shooting stills, as opposed to video.

Based on that, I think Pany, Canon, etc. will continue forward (and develop a global shutter) with CMOS instead of going back to CCD.

But I've been wrong before, will be wrong again, maybe here - Mark

The GH2 has got video capabilities?
What are the major diffrences between them?

Panasonic DMC-FZ18, Panasonic DMC-FZ28, Canon G5, Canon 350D, Canon 50D + BG-E2N
Tamron 17-50 2.8, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM,
Canon 18-55 II plus lots of Minolta MD/M42 lenses and bodies

The G10 has a standard 720p HD video, but without the capability of the
popular AVCHD Lite format of the G2. Also, the G2 can film at either 60 or 50
frames per second (30 or 25fps data from the sensor).
Also.... there is no GH2 model.
