An entertaining movie and well shot movie, and it does show what the K-7 is capable off :)

We are around...just lay low alot
Unfortunately the WIFI here in the middle of nowhere won't keep up with video...it's a pain
I did watch a bunch of K7 videos on the weekend at home.

I'm very impressed and I'm sure my next upgrade will include HD video.
Maybe it's a blessing I just upgraded last summer,
by the time I'm ready again there will no doubt be a further upgraded K7 available.

Have you seen any wildlife shorts with the K7?

I watched this the other day. To be honest, I was more impressed with the plot line than the video quality. I enjoyed the short a great deal. It's good to see what a DSLR can do. Obviously not up to film/digital camcorder standards, but they did a lot of neat things with the video and various lenses.

Thanks for posting the link. They have a couple other "K7 + lenses" only videos on their YouTube feed that are interesting as well.

A digital camcorder is not going to produce quality like that, unless you're refering to the Red cameras and other high end video cameras. These are low light shots after all. Film may be better if you've watched the Zacuto video, but it's surprising how close digital is. Simply put, shooting "uncle jack" in film will not make it better.

I wasn't referring to consumer level digital camcorders, but rather, like you suggested, higher end digital recording systems, like RED, or film cameras.

No, filming "Uncle Jack" with a film camera will not make it 'better.' The quality is high enough that it would be difficult for the casual observer to notice a difference. And obviously the plot, scenes, and acting make the movie. However, I do feel that the recording ability of the K7 (or any other DSLR, for that matter) still falls far short of what is achievable with high end digital or film.

Well I see two hot pixels and personally I don't like the distortion on some of the wider lenses.

Details aside, I like the video.
