I recently looked at a selection of Hoya filters in
this post. I can't comment on B+W since I don't have nor ever used them.
In general, filters don't affect quality noticeably except possibly by increased flare, where coated ones help. Cheaper ones might introduce a slight colour cast. So on the budget Hoya filter, I'd suggest HMC UV(0) or UV(C), but avoid UV(N). If you want the best physical protection, Hoya HD is specifically designed with hardened glass, and
