Hi Guys

Im wanting help with an issue I have. The thing is can I fit a 2x tele-converter to it ? Do the two work together? I have a canon EOS 500d, and I bought the additional 70-300 lens, but I want to squeeze more length out of it, could the converter do it?

Thanks in advance for any help and advice

You may be able to fit a generic 2x teleconverter to it. Look at the back of the lens. How much space is there? Some teleconverters stick out, some don't, and depending on the lens they may not be mechanically compatible.

Do note even if you get it to fit, you wont be able to use AF any more as the aperture then becomes too small. Also the quality will take a hit. How much I couldn't say, but it may not be much more than if you just resized an image upwards. Finally do note you'll have a long focal length and small aperture, so even with OS, shake will likely become a big problem. A 1.4x will be less risky.

Not the same lens, but IS keeps trying to work when I stacked both a 2x and 1.4x on the 100-400L. Now that's a tricky one to hand hold even with IS...

Popo, there is only one Sigma 70-300 with OS!! It is the same lens. And what TC's are you using the 100-400, because it is necessary for the TC to have IS connectors.

EDIT: Oh wait  you talk about the OS / IS part
