Here are a few from late this morning at Dubai International Airport.

Some liveries may not be recognisable, but the aircraft are:

Emirates Airlines A330 and B777

That's all folks (until I pop out again to get an A380 on finals....) - all taken with Nikon D90, 70-300mm VR, varying focal lengths at F8 and -2/3EV

Good shots Phill,

You must have been sitting on the tarmac as some of the focal lenghts you used on the exif are not that big.

Cheers

Thanks, 4xxxx

I was about 3/4 mile from the end of the runway for those shots, and varying from about 150m off the flightpath to right on it. I went back to find the A380 on departure but unfortunately the Air Traffic Control hadn't reversed the traffic as usual so I was stuck with arriving traffic again.

These damned A380s are illusive! The majority of flights arrive in DXB at night, and depart at around 09:00, apart for the 16:15 departure I was trying to get yesterday! By the time I was there is was too late to move to the other end of the runways...

Great shots! Love seeing all those Emirates planes and the Dubai Airport... reminds me of old times...

Are you an Emirati or an expat working in the U.A.E. Dubaiphil?

Back to Dubai International Airport this morning, and this time with aircraft on departure. Morning = loads of long haul Emirates flights departing, literally B777-300ERs one after the other. There were a few others thrown in though...

And finally, the illusive A380!

Not a thing of beauty, but here it is in all its glory.

I tried a new 70-200mm VRII lens this morning which was stunning at 1/30th at 200mm (!), but this 70-300mm more than suits my needs - plenty sharp enough - there's a full size A380 pic included to illustrate...
