Being back in Norway for Christmas the first thing I did was to go out and take some pictures. The trees were all covered in ice and I thought it was a nice opportunity to try to take a set of shots that would later remind me about Norway and Christmas once I go back to Minnesota. For this particular picture I decided to try to get the crystals backlit (or lit from the side) using my SB 600 wirelessly (using the D80 command mode) and holding it to the right side with my hand as I took a photo, combinig the built in flash on my D80 and the SB 600. The result was that the light turned blueish and you could really see the structure of the crystals themselves (on the larger version, not so much on the small cropped one). The picture was taken in the morning.

This is the Holiday season means to me: cold temperatures and white landscapes. I wanted to capture this landscape as it was, frozen and misty.

Holiday Seasons in Malaysia typically means Open Houses, where the host (usually a political party(ies)) will invite all or anyone willing to come and celebrate the festive season together, be it the Muslim, Hari Raya, the Indians, Deepavali (Light festival) , the Chinese, Chinese New Year or the Christians, Christmas.. there's always Open House. !
