I shoot fotos for college newspaper.. I want ot buy a lens that would be good for sports fotography.. which wud be the best suitable lens for me provided i have a sub 500$ budget??

I'm not sure if there is an Olympus lens that would meet these requirements for that price. However, there may be a Sigma lens that could work for you. I hear you can get the 18-50mm f2.8 lens for a price closer to your budget.

a second hand 14-54mm would be good I guess.

14-54mm for sports? I think that would be a bit short...

The sigma 70-200mm 2.8 lens is the one you are looking for, but this would require you to spend a bit more money than you planed. I would recommend doing so.

Even I have my eyes set at 70-200.. but i am short by 250$... I think I have to wait few more months to get my hands on tht.. Monitoring all those sites for some offers on those.. no luck..

This is my first time hearing about that SIgma.
I know for most of other lens they make for
4/3 mount, but never heard of this one.
I am wondering how does it compare to 50-200
IQ wise ?

Just the fact it's faster makes it more compelling for
me.

Other 2 factors would be AF-speed and IQ of
course.
