PS: Okay guys, I am sorry I posted some processed pictures before which I didn't know I was not suppose to. I am still a newbie. Anyway, these are all the original pictures without processing.

Quite a shame that your processed these photos!

I have heard alot of good things about this lens? What your opinion on it?

But those are some nice shots!

I think you've missed the point of "lens" galleries. They should be to showcase unprocessed shots so that people have a reliable way of comparing lenses. If you process your shots (which are very good looking!), that defeats the purpose since nobody know what the original output looks like.

I think you guys are going a little overboard on the 'OMG NO PROCESSING'. Some of you might shoot in vivid, some in RAW. You're telling methat an image shot with the olympus/canon/nikon equivalent are all going to look the same when each camera has different defaults? If that was the case then we'd all start shouting that the canon variant looked the best as we all know the Canon DSLR's have more sharpening/contrast by default

If pcFishHK wants to process his images, to give us an idea of what this lens combined with some pp can do I don't see the problem.

I heard so much about this lens, what I heard from others is a good combo with the 18-200mm VR and this lens is always out of stock due to it's popularity and high demands and as well I heard great reviews on the new Tokina 100mm Macro lens AT-X PRO D f/2.8, well I just purchased the D90 kit lens last Friday online @ Adorama.com I was wondering will Tokina lens like 11-16mm and 100mm macro lens be suitable for the D90 cause I was thinking of getting the Tokina 100mm macro lens instead of the 105mm VR macro lens, as for the arrival date on my D90 it will be arriving on Dec 2 due to the holidays (Thanksgiving weekend) Thanks and keep on shooting

P.S I forgot to mention I know the Tokina 100mm macro lens is more cheaper than the 105mm macro VR lens should I sacrifice the VR to get a 3rd party lens or stick with Nikkor lens to be safe on the safe side
Thanks

i know i took this a while ago but i am really loving the lens,
this just shows how wide you can get also at full size the detail achievable

I have this lens too and it performs really really well. It's a rather more sharp than the much loved Sigma 10-20 - increasingly so, the further away from the center we get.

It's constant aperture and the build quality are pluses too - no money was spent on an AF motor and it is a little more expensive than the Sigma, so one might argue it's a different package altogether though.

As for the post processing, I personally don't mind. Some people don't go out without make up, others don't show pictures they haven't processed. Wait, maybe not the best analogy....

Cheers :-)
