So to anyone who hasn't seen this article it pretty much sums up everything you need to know about getting an SD card.

Thanks for the info, but beware of posting a link promoting an external site on your first post as it'll seem like advertising or spam to some people. Are you affiliated with Toms Hardware?

Hi kpr,

Thanks for the warning. Tom's Hardware is a site I've previously used and had no problem with and, under Firefox, I didn't see the message box you "screen-captured" when I closed the tab.

I'll leave the final determination about what to do about this to Gordon (I've PM'ed him) but my own take is that this was caused by an advert served by a third party rather than directly from the site. That still shouldn't happen in an ideal world, of course.

Bob.

Hi kpr, that's strange - I also suspected spam as this was a link from someone's first post, but I clicked and it went through to the article at Toms Hardware as promised. I just tried again and it went through ok - I'm using Firefox. If others experience the same issue as kpr though, I'll remove the link... As Bob suspects, I believe it's due to a third party advertiser they're using, perhaps targeting your region and not ours...

Scanned my puter and all seems/shows ..ok :D

Kpr, if you're that security consious, you may want to consider switching to Firefox :)

Tomshardware is definitely a legit site, but I suspect some renegade ad tried to infect you.

Sorry I guess posting a link as your first post must seem pretty suspicious. My mistake. Its just the article had so much to offer, couldn't resist. And Kpr you really shouldn't use IE. The only use I can think of for IE is downloading either firefox or chrome and thats about it.

yeah i've gotten the fake anti-virus on facebook on firefox, i don't know how the heck it's doing it, i thought it might have been an XP exploit but it's in vista too, thanks for showing that kpr. Awesome article though, no a-data cards though.
